The health and safety of our guests and staff are our top priority and we have made some important changes to prepare for your visit to Portland, Maine.

During this time, we are providing Contactless Self Check-in for all our guests to help reduce exposure through social distancing.

Our Self Check-in practice doesn’t mean less service. It gives you the flexibility to arrive on your own terms, knowing you can contact us 24-hours a day. Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, loss of smell and/or taste. If you are not able to check the first two boxes above and at least one of the additional boxes, please contact us at 207-492-5141 to discuss your options. Current lodging mandates require that Maine residents have not traveled outside of ME, NH, or VT within the last 14 days.
Our Enhanced COVID-19 Polices: These are practices are endorsed by the State of Maine & CDC to keep all guests and staff members safer during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are unable to follow these guidelines, as a private owned and managed property, we reserve the right to refuse service without refund. Guests are required to provide and wear face coverings while in common areas at all times. During breakfast service, face coverings will not be required while seated. Guests are responsible for maintaining 6 feet of social distance between other guests and staff members by all means possible. Only registered guests are allowed inside the building or on the grounds. No outside visitors will be permitted. Guest rooms will not receive daily housekeeping service during your stay. We will provide fresh towels or other rooms amenities by request during breakfast hours. As a guest, you understand there are inherent health risks when traveling during a pandemic and agree to not hold the business, management, or staff liable for any COVID-19 exposure during your stay.
Our Standard Terms & Policies: These policies were agreed to at the time of your reservation and were included in your confirmation email. Only two guests per room with no exceptions. This is how our rooms are licensed and we cannot allow for additional beds, air mattresses, or children’s bedding in the guest rooms. Children over the age of 14 are welcome but must be accompanied by a family member and count as a guest in the room. All guest names must be listed on the reservation for your safety in the event of an emergency. The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast is a NON-SMOKING & NON-VAPING property. For the health and safety of our guests, smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere on the premises, and a minimum $250 cleaning fee is imposed for smoking and vaping inside the house. Additionally, we do not have designated outdoor smoking or vaping areas; we ask that you cross the street. We will not be responsible for accidents or injury to guests, or loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind. You are responsible for any damage to our property. Although we love animals, we cannot accommodate pets. The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast does not take responsibility for changes to your reservation due to inclement weather, unforeseen changes to travel plans, personal sickness or injury, or family emergencies. No refunds are provided for late arrivals, early departures, no-shows, or weather-related cancellations. Any violation of these policies will result in the need to find other accommodations immediately. Refunds will not be considered.
Breakfast Service: We will be limiting our breakfast service seating to two couples at a time with an 8am-8:45am seating and a 9am-9:45am seating, giving 15 minutes for the staff to disinfect and sanitize the dining room between services. If you are staying multiple nights, we will ask your preference for the following day during breakfast hours or via text message. For those that would prefer to not eat in our dining room or are leaving before breakfast service begins, we are offering our Brown Bag Breakfast which contains fresh fruit, a muffin or sweet bread, fruit and nut trail mix, and cheese with freshly brewed coffee and juice to go, by advance request.
