Meet the Innkeepers
Everyone working at The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast of Southern Maine has a story to share of how they ended up in the innkeeping world! But ask any of us and we will tell you that 10 years ago, none of us ever would’ve thought we’d be innkeepers!
E Scot Fuller-Beatty grew up in Vermont and moved to Maine to attend the University of Southern Maine School of Music. After several years of teaching abroad, he found himself back in the great state of Maine for his final state-side teaching assignment. In his last year of teaching, Scot was asked to inn-sit for a couple going on vacation and that’s when he found his second calling—not only as an innkeeper but as a self-employed entrepreneur. After inn-sitting for several properties and serving a stint as an assistant innkeeper, Scot was able to make the transition to innkeeper/owner of The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast in 2010.
Since then, Scot met Jason, who became his husband in 2014. Jason loves music, plays guitar, and is a video-game aficionado. He moved from Illinois to Maine in the fall of 2011 to try life on the East Coast. Although he works outside the inn for a technology company, he has a VERY important job at the inn—making sure the recycling and compost are put out every Tuesday night! Scot and Jason love their home and are happy to invite others to come and enjoy it!
Erin Abraham came to The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast soon after moving to Portland in April of 2014 after nearly a decade of self-employment as a professional house cleaner and accomplished seamstress/designer. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Theatrical Design. In May of 2016, Erin and her partner Zach welcomed their first child, Lilian. Hopefully little Lily will make the transition to the housekeeping team soon! In 2017 Erin was promoted from Assistant Innkeeper to Managing Innkeeper which means she basically runs the show around here!
Louis Giller joined The Chadwick team in late 2018 as our new Assistant Innkeeper. He originally moved to Portland in 2017 to work for North Spore, a local gourmet mushroom company where he still works farmers markets and leads foraging classes. In his free time Louis loves to run, mountain bike, rock climb, and DJ for the community radio station, 90.9 WMPG. Most importantly, he enjoys cooking great food and creating a comfortable experience for our guests!
Have a complaint? We introduce to you our brothers-by-another-mother team of Oliver & Henry, our purebred American-Shelter dogs! Not only are they our in-house human resources team, but they are also the official welcoming crew. Oliver is a young pup and big lover (he’ll gladly show you where the money is for a biscuit) and Henry is our scaredy-cat (he thinks the best way to say hello is with a loud bark from afar!). We promise Henry is more afraid of you! For our guests’ comfort, we keep them away from common areas and do not allow them in guest rooms. For our past guests, after nearly 14 years of faithful friendship and love, Charlie lives on in our hearts and memories. Our dogs bring us great joy and we encourage you to #AdoptDontShop at your local animal shelter!
Over the years, we have had a great crew of innkeepers, housekeepers, and breakfast cooks who sometimes come back to make guest appearances! Don’t be surprised if you run into Laura, Sebastian, Jonathan, Matt, Adam, Spencer, Cerella, Sara, or Carney!
